Presented by the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department\, Saturday\, September 5th will feature Lost Creek Bluegrass Band.\nLost Creek Bluegrass Band was formed back in the 70’s by two cousins\, and since then\, they have been able to travel across the world and provide music to many different audiences. Members of the band include Ed Stiner (guitar/vocals)\, Rick Fielden (mandolin/fiddle)\, Phil Clear (percussion/vocals)\, Rick Flynn (banjo/dobro) and Tim Carpenter (bass/vocals). Lost Creek has created seven albums\, four of which have one Album of the Year through the North America Country Music Association.\nFood trucks will be on-site to offer a variety of dining and snack options\, including:– Beba’s Rolling Meatball– Sideshow Station Concessions– Yankee Doodle Doggie\nBring along a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an evening of free live music. Their musical repertoire includes songs from the 1950s through the 1990s\, as well as from current artists. Their focus is primarily on country and Top 40. They have been the opening act for Earl Thomas Conley and T.G. Sheppard. DESCRIPTION:Elizabethton Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the return of Bites by the Bridge\, a monthly outdoor food truck court this summer on the first Friday of May\, June\, August\, and September\, and the second Friday of July (due to our Independence Day Celebration on July 4th). All events will take place from 11 AM to 2 PM at Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton.\nNow in its third year\, this event offers a rotating lineup of local food trucks each month\, providing a variety of lunch\, snack\, and dessert options in Elizabethton’s most iconic park. Tents and tables will be available on-site for convenience\, and lawn games will be provided for guests of all ages.\nWhether you’re taking a break from work\, meeting friends\, or enjoying time with family\, Bites by the Bridge is designed to offer a simple and enjoyable outdoor dining experience. Stop by and grab a bite to eat to-go\, or sit down and enjoy lunch in the park!\nFood Trucks for July will be announced soon!

SUMMARY:Foundations of Freedom: Elizabethton's Independence Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Elizabethton for a full afternoon of FREE fun on Saturday\, July 4th\, featuring inflatables\, pageants\, and performances\, along with an evening of music and fireworks to celebrate Independence Day!\nThis year\, in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary*\, Elizabethton Parks & Rec\, along with other city departmentsand staff\, are hosting a Patriotic Parade to add to the Independence Day Celebration activities.\nThis parade will feature patriotic performers\, floats honoring veterans’ groups and local heroes\, and will follow the same route as the annual Christmas Parade down E Elk Avenue\, finishing at the monument.\nPlease note\, the floats for this parade are pre-planned to honor local veterans groups and we are not accepting float applications\, but we are proud to invite veterans and Armed Forces members in our community to join in the parade. Any veterans or currently serving members who would like to participate can meet atthe staging area on Elm Street between E. Elk Ave and E. E Street between 5:00-5:30 PM.\nA full breakdown of the event is as follows:\n● 4:00 P.M. – Event Kick-Off\, featuring The Little Miss Firecracker pageant\, dance performances\, face painting by Magic Mirror Skin Art\, Free Inflatables\, food trucks and more!● 6:00 P.M. – Patriotic Parade in Downtown Elizabethton● 7:00 P.M. – Patriotic ceremony● 7:30 P.M. – Sail On: The Beach Boys Tribute band will take the stage for a fun-filled concert.● Approx. 9:30 – Close out the evening with an incredible Fireworks Finale\, sponsored by the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce.\nVarious food trucks will be open all day and night\, serving a variety of lunch\, snack\, and dinner options\, including Good Karma Kettle Corn\, Sideshow Station Concessions\, Tin Can Diner\, The Patty Shack\, Appalachian Ice\, Diggy Donuts\, Cardinal Kitchen\, Banjo BBQ\, Brunch Box 423\, and Yankee Doodle Doggie. Fire Pizza and Covered Bridge Creamery will also be open across the street from the park with delicious treats!\nMake sure you bring along a blanket or chair to stay and enjoy the day with us!\n*This project is funded under an agreement with the State of Tennessee administered by the Tennessee Commission for the United States Semi-quincentennial.

DESCRIPTION:The Covered Bridge Jams summer concert series returns for its 12th year\, bringing live music to Covered Bridge Park nearly every Saturday night from June through the end of August. Presented by the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department\, Saturday\, June 20th\, will feature Lauren Cole Band.\nLauren Cole Band is a blues-driven rock band from Johnson City\, Tennessee. Lauren’s dynamic vocal range has captured the attention of audiences in Tennessee\, Virginia\, North Carolina – and even New Jersey – for more than a decade.Lauren puts her own touch on an amazingly varied repertoire of hits and is backed by a tight ensemble that perfectly complements her vocals. Lauren Cole Band’s upbeat setlist has made the band a favorite at local breweries\, clubs and private parties.\nFood trucks will be on-site to offer a variety of dining and snack options\, including:– Banjo BBQ– EZ Squeezy Lemonade– Manhattan’s Grill– Philly Flavors\nBring along a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an evening of free live music. DESCRIPTION:Elizabethton Parks and Recreation is excited to invite the community to celebrate spring at Bloom: Elizabethton Earth Day\, a family-friendly celebration of plants\, gardening\, and a love of our local green spaces. \nJoin us on Saturday\, April 18th at Covered Bridge Park from 12 – 4 pm for a day filled with plants\, seeds\, gardening inspiration\, and hands-on activities for all-ages. \nBloom will feature local organizations and community groups sharing resources\, demonstrations\, face painting by Magic Mirror Skin Art\, and other hands-on activities! Admission is free and open to the public\, and no registration is required. Several food trucks will be on site with items available for purchase. \nA community plant and seed swap will be ongoing during this event\, so bring your plants and seeds to swap and bring home new treasures! \nWhether you are an avid plant collector\, curious about starting a garden\, or just looking for a fun way to spend a spring day in the park\, Bloom: Elizabethton Earth Day will have something for everyone! \nKeep Carter County Beautiful will be hosting a clean-up nearby beginning at 3:45 pm\, with swag available for participants.
