Main Street Elizabethton and Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber welcomed Thoughtful Vintage to the downtown community with an official ribbon cutting celebration on Tuesday, March 24.

Community members gathered to meet owner Katie Jenkins and celebrate the opening of her new brick-and-mortar storefront at 440 E Elk Avenue in Downtown Elizabethton. Thoughtful Vintage, which began as an online shop in 2020, first gained a following through curated thrift finds shared online and through a pop-up location at The Coffee Company. The new storefront marks an exciting next chapter for the growing small business.

“I started my business as a way to give people a way to shop for curated affordable, vintage pieces.” Said owner Katie Jenkins.  “My main goal is to keep clothes out of the landfill. I’ve grown up in the Elizabethton area and have always dreamed of having my own shop downtown. I’m so excited to be a part of the community!”

Inspired by the environmental and social impacts of fast fashion, Jenkins founded Thoughtful Vintage with a mission to give clothing a second life. Through carefully curated collections of thrifted and thoughtfully sourced pieces, the shop offers customers unique, high-quality styles while promoting more sustainable shopping habits. Thoughtful Vintage now welcomes shoppers to explore its one-of-a-kind finds and experience a more intentional approach to fashion.
