The annual Elizabethton Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. in Downtown Elizabethton. Hosted by Main Street Elizabethton, this year’s theme is “Peace on Earth.”
Entry applications are open Thursday, Sept. 17, and will close Saturday, Dec. 5, or when the maximum capacity of 100 participants is reached. Anyone who is interested can apply online at MainStreetElizabethton.Com/Parade.
Parade entries are encouraged to create floats that reflect what peace and community mean to them.From messages of kindness and unity to celebrations of family, friendship, service and tradition, “Peace on Earth” offers participants an opportunity to interpret the theme in their own unique way and help transform Downtown Elizabethton into a celebration of the Christmas season.
In honor of its 100-year anniversary, the Elizabethton Rotary Club will serve as the 2026 Grand Marshal as a recognition of its positive, lasting impression on the community.
For 100 years, the Elizabethton Rotary Club has remained committed to the people of Elizabethton through service, leadership and support of local organizations and initiatives. The many people who have dedicated their time and talent to strengthen the community are at the heart of what it means to celebrate “Peace on Earth.”
“‘Peace on Earth’ is about recognizing and appreciating what makes the Christmas season special, especially in our community. We want to highlight kindness, generosity and coming together,” said Courtney Bean, Main Street Elizabethton Director. “It is especially meaningful to honor the Elizabethton Rotary Club during its 100th anniversary year. Their century of service is a wonderful example of the difference people can make when they come together with a commitment to serving their community.”
