On April 6, 2024, The Bonnie Kate Theater is proud to host, Harmony For Hopson, a 3-show benefit concert supporting the Hopson Family of Elizabethton, TN. The concert will feature Nashville Recording Artist and Elizabethton native, Grant Meredith with special guest Tony Hardin to open the show. There will be a matinee show at 2:30 pm and an evening show at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available online or at The Bonnie Kate ticket office. All proceeds from the shows will go directly to the Hopson Family. There will also be locations inside the theater for cash donations and QR codes to donate via Venmo.

Jonathan Blake Hopson went home to be with his Lord and Savior in Boston Massachusetts on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the age of 34. Blake was a native of Elizabethton, born September 10, 1989, to John and Katrina (Hyder) Hopson. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Henry and Veryl Hopson; and his maternal grandfather. Tony Hyder.

Blake graduated from ETSU with a bachelor’s degree in education and then went on to earn his master’s degree in Higher Education at ETSU in 2017. Blake was a devoted member of Westside Christian Church where he served as a deacon. Blake loved his church and his church family very much. He was employed as a nuclear operator at Nuclear Fuel Services in Erwin.

Blake loved all sports, particularly baseball. He loved hunting, especially coon hunting. deer hunting and bird hunting. Blake was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and fishing, but the most special and meaningful times of his life were sharing his time with his beloved family.

Blake leaves behind a legacy of love to be cherished by his beloved wife, Carrie Wilson Hopson of the home; the lights of his life, his children, Hadley Hopson, Beau Hopson, Avery Hopson, and his son to be born in February, Judah Hopson; his parents, John and Katrina Hyder Hopson of Elizabethton; two sisters, Jaycee Hopson Reed (Alex) and Colbie Hopson Adkins (Ty) all of Elizabethton; and his maternal grandmother, Brenda Hyder of Elizabethton.
